Make it a Halloween to remember - pack your costume and head over to Medicine Hat with the family. Whether you’re looking for some Halloween magic, some classic country music, or the good old hockey game, you’ll want to mark these events down in your calendar.

Halloween Carnival

If you’re feeling spooky, celebrate Halloween a little early with this fun filled family friendly Halloween Carnival. The event is hosted as part of Medicine Hat’s Moose open house, a fraternal and service organization within the community, on Saturday, October 27. Come for the $5 pancake breakfast starting at 8am, stay for the meat draws running throughout the end, and treat yourself at the hot dog sale. The Halloween Carnival for children will run 1 to 4pm, for those who are too excited to wait until Halloween to wear their costume. Learn more about the Halloween Carnival here

Norman Foote’s The Howl Musical Masquerade

Pack your costume for a Sunday afternoon you won’t forget! Juno winner Norman Foote shares the stage at the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre with several student choirs. The best part? Everyone will be in costume! Celebrate the creativity and soak in the  sights and sounds with the family or friends. Don’t forget your Halloween costume and “buy” your tickets to this free concert so you’re guaranteed admission.

Forever Country

For one night only listen to all your favourite country classics with six mega tribute acts performing hits from Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Garth Brooks and John Fogerty. For country music fans, it’s a real treat to have all these acts share the stage for one night. Starting at 8pm, the concert will be held at The Esplanade Theatre on November 1, 2018. Whether you’re listening to Shania’s “You’re still the one” or Faith Hill and Tim McGraw’s duet with “This Kiss,” this event is bound to take you down memory lane of your favourite country hits, so grab your Forever Country tickets here

Hockey Hounds Tournament

From November 15 to 18, partake in a national pastime - the good old hockey game. Hockey teams from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba are coming together to remember the Humbolt Broncos for the 46th Annual Major Bantam Hockey Tournament. The Humbolt Broncos team was involved in a tragic bus accident en route to one of their games, but the great loss has seen the hockey community come together. This year’s tournament will be one to remember. For tickets or a pass, go to the Hockey Hounds Arena, the Kinplex or the Moose Recreation Centre during tournament play. It’s bound to be a fun night filled with adrenaline pumping hockey.

If you’re bringing the family along, you’ll want to make sure there’s enough room for everyone. Home Inn Express Medicine Hat’s family room features two double-sized beds, a 42” cable TV, a granite work desk with ergonomic chair, a gaming station, wifi, a mini-fridge, a microwave, and more. Everyone will have more than enough room and activities to keep busy but still enjoy each other’s company.

Halloween is a lot closer than you think. Whether you’re choosing costumes or cheering on hockey teams, be sure to book your stay in advance for a stress free trip.
