One of Medicine Hat’s most beloved events, the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede is back for 2021!
After events across the provinces were cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, we are relieved to hear that this special event is returning for in-person fun next month.
While the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede will look a little bit different this year, they have already confirmed that several yearly events are moving forward. For example, the Horse Show, Pancake Breakfast, Better Living exhibition centre, Visual Arts, and the Queen and Princess Competition will all take place.
Though not yet confirmed, Exhibition and Stampede organizers hope to have a summer rodeo in lieu of the midway and evening shows that have been cancelled (if you had previously purchased a ticket, you can request a refund as of June 7th). They are working with the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association to try and make some kind of rodeo happen.
Plus, the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede is working with the City of Medicine Hat to execute a Canada Day celebration for all ages. Although the exact schedule of events has yet to be released, the Canada Day event is set to take place on July 1st and will conclude with a spectacular nighttime fireworks display.
Whatever you do, be sure to attend this popular local event. Even if it’s not the same as previous years, it is guaranteed to be a fun escape from the lockdown life we’ve all been living for the past few months.
Check the official Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede website for further details, including stampede dates and a schedule of events for 2021.
If you’re going to be visiting Medicine Hat this July, then you have to check out the Exhibition and Stampede. And if you need a place to stay during your visit, we’d love for you to book a room at the Home Inn Express Medicine Hat.
